About

My name is Alexander Suchy and I’m a designer across multiple disciplines. When my lamp shade idea developed into more than a passion project, I founded SUQURU as a brand for art, interior design and “Getüftel”, which can be translated as tinkering.

SUQURU is an acronym:

• SU comes from my last name: SUchy
• QU refers to my friend Sascha QUade, who was an important inspiration for the lamp shade
• RU is short for RUdolfstraße 11 in Berlin, where Sascha and I shared an office for a few years and where everything started.

The products offered by SUQURU are about making spaces as personal and individually beautiful as possible.

They’re also all about finding the most thoughtful and responsible ways of manufacturing – and about a personal connection between a maker, a customer and a personalized product that they both care about.

This is why every product is hand-made upon request and comes with the option to fully customize them together and – if you like – including video phone calls with interior design consultation.
